Here are some useful directions from Ballinafad village ...
First, approach Ballinafad along the N4 from Dublin or Sligo directions.
about 5 minutes NW of the Boyle exit or 5 minutes SE from Castlebaldwin village.
Leave the N4 on the new ramp road, or onto the old N4 route, signposted into Ballinafad village.
- If you enter Ballinafad village along the old N4 road, signposted into Ballinafad village,
take the unsigned country road going west from the church
that passes Ballinafad Castle on the left and goes under the N4, continuing West and NW.
From the new ramp road the t-junction is in front of Ballinafad Castle ruins
where you turn right, signposted Ballymote, onto the country road that goes under the N4.
- or - If you leave the N4 along the new ramp road that approaches Ballinafad Castle
you will also approach a signpost pointing to Ballinafad left and Ballymote right,
turn right here and follow the country road that goes under the N4.
- Keep driving on that country road for about 5km until you reach a t-junction
The sign here says R295 Ballymote right, R295 Boyle left... Turn left !
- Go about 200 meters, around a bend, with a modern farmhouse above right.
Around this bend approach a stone building, a yellow bungalow and a white bungalow.
Before these three buildings, on the right, is a country road to the right, turn into it.
- Along that country road, just 200 meters later, keep straight, going up the driveway
