Where Can I Take You?
by John Willmott of Celtic Ways
Its a few days before Christmas but from the emails I am receiving thoughts seem to be more on next year's adventures rather than a break and celebration at Christmas.
In a way, this is also a celebration because thoughts are on closing the year past and celebrating with positive and motivating thoughts for the year ahead.
I am suddenly receiving a lot of requests for information on where I can take people during the day along with events they would like to attend in the evenings, so I'm doing this blog as a kind of response for these people as well as you wonderful readers who have found this spot. I was going to avoid using the blog area as blatant advertising but this is information many of you initially ask for.
When you go to Celtic Ways home page you will be linked to my 4 themes ....
Ancient Temples Of Ireland where we visit very ancient places off of the beaten track that also have spectacular views of Ireland. Our favourites are the very ancient tombs of Carrowkeel in Co. Sligo, the cairns of spectacular ancient art at Loughcrew, Co. Meath, the large stone circles of Beltany, Co. Donegal, Grange in Co. Tipperary, and Ballinoe in Co. Down, small circles with spectacular tall alignment stones such as Uragh and Kilkeal, Co. Cork, and there is so much more.
Celtic Pilgrims where we visit Celtic Christian monastic sites, intricately carved high crosses and share prayer contemplation and healing at holy wells as well as follow the stories of St. Patrick, St. Columba, St. Keven, St. Brigid and the paths of other saints. Favourite places are Glendalough and Clonmacnoise but we'll also take you to hidden yet very moving sites.
Harps Around IrelandI do in conjunction with Claire Roche, a wonderful singer and harpist with a passion for Ireland's heritage. We visit heritage houses and castles of Ireland to admire their locations, construction, craftmanship and revive the bardic and recital traditions of their music galleries.
Dancing In The Wind also in conjunction with Claire Roche and other artists to explore the places and works of Ireland's literary heritage, especially William Butler Yeats.
With all 4 themes web sites are developing with picture galleries, stories, information and glossaries along with the development of a catalogue of guides in print and on disc. These are in addition to the guided tours that I and people I can refer you to can provide you with. I have guided tours, small groups, families, couples and individuals and will soon provide my own full Irish vacations on these 4 themes as well as links to other tours companies who can provide you with the same.
To keep in touch do go to Celtic Ways and subscribe to things that interest you. I look forward to hearing from you.
